ARCHITECTURAL HINGES

Electrified Solutions by Application

Electrification options are available on architectural and continuous hinges and pivots to enable electric power transfer from the frame to the door for electrified mortise or cylindrical locks, exit devices with electric latch retraction, and/or electric strikes (pairs of doors). Electrified architectural hinges and pivots are an excellent choice for enhancing security and ensuring seamless integration with electronic access control systems. Inside an electrified hinge, concealed wiring connects to both the door's and the frame's electrical components. This design allows for a seamless transfer of electricity, enabling the door to be connected to power sources or electronic systems without visible wires hanging out. Additionally, continuous hinges with EPT (Electrical Power Transfer) and TWP (Through-Wire Preparation) cutouts provide further flexibility and reliability in electrified door applications, making them an ideal choice for various high-security and high-traffic environments.

For architectural hinges, select the electrical through-wire options (TW4, TW8, TW12). Electrical monitoring option (MON) to monitor door position is also available for select models. For electrified continuous hinges, choose from EPT or Ives Through-Wire Panel Allegion Connect (TWP CON) options and prepped hinges to easily electrify the opening.

Electrified hinges and pivots are commonly used in commercial buildings, hospitals, and educational institutions to enhance security and control access. In commercial settings, they secure sensitive areas like data centers. In health care facilities, they ensure that only authorized staff can access rooms with medical equipment, controlled substances, and patient records. Educational institutions utilize electrified hinges to safeguard research labs, administrative offices, and equipment storage rooms, thereby protecting valuable assets and ensuring student safety.
